It gets personal in Commissioner Dupin's new case! Dupin's closest colleague, Kadeg, is cowardly beaten in the back when he finds his aunt Joelle Contel seriously injured on the stairs of her house. The old lady dies. Kadeg, in turn, ends up in a coma. Dupin's team is horrified and fears for the life of their colleague, while Inspector Dupin takes up his investigation with his usual meticulousness. Through Nolwenn, he not only learns about Kadeg's sinister family history, but also about his special closeness to (hereditary) Aunt Joelle, who took care of her nephew after the death of his parents. It almost seems as if there is a curse on the family. Dupin comes across violent events, some dating back decades, accompanied by disputes in the Contel fruit-growing clan. It's about the non-sale of high-yielding acreage and the death of a young woman from Romania, for which a harvest worker was convicted at the time... perhaps unjustly? Once again, the cases of city detective Dupin, who has been transferred to Brittany, are not only something for the crime-loving mind, but also something for the eye. After all, they always take place in one of the most rugged and breathtaking regions of Brittany: The film takes us to the far north of France, between large estuaries, the wild Atlantic and beguiling apple orchards. This also means that the 11th episode, "Brittany's Nights", is atmospherically convincing and can seamlessly build on the well-known strengths of the film series with effective suspense sequences. The successful interplay between the camera (Tobias Schmidt), sound design and music repeatedly succeeds in placing its own accents, while the attack on a close associate puts the familiar characters in a new light. The result is a successful "Dupin" debut from "Ella Schön" director Holger Haase!
